'O Kamehameha V: Lot Kapuaiwa, by Rosalin Upohus Comeau, tells the story of a Hawaiian monarch engulfed by rapid change in Hawai'i with the development of the sugar industry, the influence of Europeans-as he dressed in high boots, long coats and white breeches-and the growing influence of Christian churches. Other books in the series include Kamehameha the Great, with its Hawaiian language edition, 'O Kamehameha Nuii.
